Apart from architectural wonders, Dubai is top listed for the best garden also known as The Dubai Miracle Garden. It is a huge garden in Dubai, UAE, filled with flowers. Known as the biggest flower garden globally, it covers 72,000 square meters and has over 50 billion flowers. You can find various 2D and 3D objects of different themes completely made up of natural flowers!

The Dubai Miracle Garden is called a “miracle” because it’s a flower paradise in the desert. Normally, you wouldn’t expect to see flowers growing in such extreme conditions.

History and Records of the Miracle Garden

History

The park cost around AED 70 million to build and took ten months to complete. It has a unique irrigation system that recycles grey water from nearby homes to water the flowers. It was founded on 14th Feb 2013 on Valentine’s Day.

In 2014, the second phase of expansion was completed, adding new attractions like aromatherapy gardens, topiary sculptures, floral clocks, fragrant flowers, and other features.

World Records

After its completion, the miracle garden has won many awards. It also holds three Guinness world records which are:

  1. World’s Largest Vertical Garden 2013
  2. World’s Largest Floral Arrangement 2016
  3. World’s Tallest Topiary Art 2018

Variety of Flowers at Dubai Miracle Garden

The Dubai Miracle Garden has a wide variety of colorful flowers. Authorities say there are around 120 different types of flowers in the garden.

The majority are Sunflowers and Petunias. About 80% of the floral sculptures and objects have Petunia flowers in them. Other species include:

  • Verbena
  • Coleuses
  • Geraniums
  • Marigold
  • Daisy

Why are Petunias used in the majority?

Petunia flowers are well-suited to Dubai’s weather conditions. They come in a wide range of colors and variations, making them perfect for creating uniform floral themes or sculptures in various colors.

One great thing about Petunia flowers is their long lifecycle compared to other flowers. They last for a long time and also have a wonderful fragrance.

Price of Tickets

The Dubai Miracle Garden ticket prices are divided into three categories:

– Adults (12 years and above) – AED 55

– Children (3 to 11 years old) – AED 40

– Children (Below 3 years old) – Free Admission

Timings

– Monday to Friday: 09:00 AM to 09:00 PM

– Saturday and Sunday: 09:00 AM to 10:00 PM

Best time to see the miracle garden

The Miracle Garden in Dubai is open from October to April when the weather is best for blossoms. It’s best to book tickets in advance during this period. You can reach the garden easily by taking the Metro Red Line to the Mall of the Emirates Station, then a 15-minute taxi ride.

The Emirates A380

Dubai’s Emirates A380 is the largest floral diorama ever built. It is made of 500,000 flowers and is 52 meters tall with a wingspan of 46 meters.

The Heart Tunnel

Another photo-worthy spot in Dubai Miracle Garden is the Heart Arch. It is a 45-meter-long passage made of red roses shaped like a heart, perfect for capturing memorable moments.

The Floral Clock

At Dubai Miracle Garden, the Floral Clock is a beautiful sight with different flower arrangements each season and is 10 meters wide. It’s made of roses, chrysanthemums, and more.

The Floating Lady

The Floating Lady at Dubai Miracle Garden is amazing to see. She looks like she’s floating with flowers making up her long hair. It’s a stunning sight!

Smurf Village

Last year, Dubai Miracle Garden introduced a popular new attraction for kids: Smurf Village. With its cute blue characters and mushroom-shaped houses, it was a big hit and is expected to be just as popular this year.

The Lake Park

This part of the garden has a lovely countryside vibe. It features an artificial lake with fountains, surrounded by 3-D models covered in floral prints, and flamingos by the banks. You’ll also find fun flower installations like a lady with a hat and a wooden dhow on the lakeshore.

Maintenance of the Garden

To keep the garden blooming and stunning, hard work is put into its maintenance.

The Dubai Miracle Garden is kept lush and green through regular watering, which is important for the flowers to grow in the hot desert climate.

After watering, the garden is fertilized to nourish the plants. Pruning ensures new flower growth. Regular pest control sprays are applied, followed by cleaning to create a welcoming atmosphere for visitors.

To explore the garden properly at least 3 to 4 hours are required.

It is closed during the hot weather which is not an idle condition for the flowers to grow.

Outside food is not allowed inside the garden.

Home to 500,000 butterflies, the butterfly garden is located inside the miracle garden.
