First Day of Ramadan Announced In UAE


Ramadan, the holy month of fasting and spiritual reflection, is set to begin tomorrow, March 11, 2024, in Dubai. The UAE’s Moon-sighting committee has confirmed that the crescent moon of Ramadan has been sighted, marking the start of the month .

During Ramadan, Muslims in Dubai and around the world will fast from dawn until sunset, engaging in prayer, reflection, and acts of charity. In Dubai, the holy month is celebrated with community gatherings, traditional food scenes, and vibrant decorations.

The city’s streets come alive with a festive atmosphere, and many businesses adjust their hours to accommodate the fasting period. The end of Ramadan is marked by the celebration of Eid Al Fitr, which is expected to fall on April 10, 2024.

As the UAE prepares for Ramadan, the government has announced reduced working hours for public and private sector employees during the holy month. Federal employees will work 3.5 hours less from Monday to Thursday and 1.5 hours less on Friday, while private sector workers will have a reduction of two working hours per day.
